It dives into simple times and nature itself, turning its attention to the year 1969 specifically, referencing historic moments such as the Woodstock festival, the Harlem Cultural Festival, the Moon Landing, and the Kimura the Yasuda Auditorium incident.

Referencing the Japanese university protests during that time, Makoto Kimura explores freedom, claims, rebellion, and passion by bringing different parts of history together. To translate the same energy, the brand delivers acid-washed denim jackets, flared bell bottoms, loose knitwear, cropped wide-leg trousers, and more. The patterning includes trippy prints to create a layered look throughout the collection for a slightly bohemian feel.
