Mygunyah by The Circus blends heritage architecture with modern living in Melbourne’s North Fitzroy, creating a family home that spans three connected pavilions. Designed by Matt Gibson Architecture + Design, it balances original Victorian details with contemporary form, using Nubrik Traditional Acland Cream bricks to bridge old and new in both tone and texture.
Organized into distinct pavilions, the layout links formal living and dining with newly built communal zones, while bedrooms for multiple generations are integrated across legacy and new volumes. Brickwork—both painted white and left in its natural form—anchors the interiors with tactile cohesion. The design supports a growing family while preserving historical character, with light-filled spaces and layered materials that create harmony between past and present. Mygunyah stands as a heritage modern house that honors its origins while embracing the functionality and openness of contemporary living.
