The 'A Work in Motion T-Shirts' by the T-Shirt Issue takes inspiration from the animal studies Eadweard Muybridge conducted in the 1800s with stop frame photo animation.
For this project, the forms of a regular sweatshirt have been morphed into dynamic sculptures that seem to pull the fabric in a certain direction and create the illusion of movement and flight.
The three different shirt designs from the T-Shirt Issue vary slightly, which is evident in the changes in the position of the bird's head and wings. The Muybridge-inspired shirts beautifully manage to capture the motions of a bird and it is as if the three different moments in time were frozen by pressing "pause" and "play" buttons.
