50s Themed Traditional Coats

Très Bien and Gloverall Join Forces on a New Monty Coat Design

Swedish fashion brand Très Bien works in collaboration with British outerwear expert Gloverall on a 2020 iteration of its iconic Monty Coat design. The silhouette originally garnered attention during the 50s era, where militaristic fashion was affordable post-war.

The coat became a staple civilian piece in Britain due to its casual and lightweight feel. The Monty design also delivers an industrial aesthetic prepared for the different British weather conditions. The interior component is made from traditional tartan. The coat can be flipped inside out to allow the tartan to be front-facing, delivering a modern design language. Another add that gives it a contemporary feel is the slightly longer design rounded out with snap buttons and toggles.
