The upcoming Modern Family 'Connection Lost' episode will take place entirely within the screen of a Macbook. The innovative episode will feature an experience that is the first of its kind, with the entirety of the episode's plot taking place within the frame of the Macbook of character Claire, portrayed by actress Julie Bowen.
The plot of the episode centers around Claire attempting to contact her daughter Haley while she is traveling, and inevitably she must go through several apps and screens before she can get in touch with her.
The Modern Family 'Connection Lost' episode is an interesting gamble from the network. While the episode will surely speak to the digitally native generation, it remains to be seen if older audiences connect with the gimmick rather than being disoriented by it.
