Mocean Fitness Transforms Ocean Pollution into Performance Wear

Mocean Fitness is a new UK label that transforms ocean pollution – nylon waste and plastic bottles – into stylish performance wear. This is crucial as according to a recent report, by 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.
“The oceans are incredible,” said Alex Platt, founder of Mocean Fitness LTD. “They cover more than 70% of the earth’s surface and produce half of the oxygen that we breathe. But, they’re desperately under threat. I love the fitness industry, but I think that the fitness wear industry can do much more for the environment. Commonly, sportswear is made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the most common type of plastic in the world; this requires crude oil to produce. Items are often used for a number of months and discarded into landfills before being replaced. It's an open-loop process that’s not sustainable and doesn’t make sense."
Mocean Fitness recently debuted on Kickstarter and consumers can pre-order from the collection from £25 to £250.
