Netflix Created a Mobile-Only Subscription Service for Malaysia

Netflix will release its mobile-only subscription service in Malaysia for $4 a month. A mobile-only subscription lets customers get unlimited access to the platform on a mobile device, however, only one device at a time can access one subscription. Netflix now offers four different plans for Malaysian markets, including Basic, Standard, Premium, and now a mobile-only subscription. Increasing the plans offered can help Netflix cater to customers with different streaming needs.

The company has a history of offering mobile subscription options. Netflix offered a similar product in India, for $2.80 per month. Additionally, mobile subscriptions may be a good product for Malaysian markets, as 88% of the population owns a smartphone, and 78% of Malaysian smartphone users will stream or download content.
