Miniature hat makers have been seconded from a railway set to help create a new hat by Sorensen Grundy milliners entitled 'Construction Overhead.' Using traditional millinery materials of buckram, wire and 100% worsted wool the miniature hat makers scale scaffolding made out of doll's house floorboards and steel rods. The building project involves carrying materials up ladders to reach the top hat development.
"It's much harder to make half a hat than a whole one," claim millinery duo Dan Sorensen and Sara Grundy. The creators specialize in whimsical pieces and many other fabulous hats. Discover how hats are really made, discover the secret and see what happens behind the scenes in the millinery workroom after dark.
