Shift Up is bringing Stellar Blade Complete Edition to Switch 2 on a 32 GB Game Card, providing a physical cartridge option for the port. The title’s Nintendo eShop listing shows a 25.4 GB file size, aligning with the card’s stated capacity.
Reports suggested Nintendo would offer publishers 16 GB and 32 GB cartridges after the 64 GB version was previously believed to be the only available size. Shift Up confirmed that Stellar Blade would ship on a cartridge and announced a Nov. 5 release date. However, rising NAND flash prices could affect manufacturing costs, while games larger than available card capacities will still require downloads.
For players, the 32 GB cartridge supports continued access to complete physical releases for midsize games. For publishers, lower-capacity media could make physical editions more economically viable, preserving retail reach and collector demand. Larger titles will still rely on eShop downloads or Game-Key Cards, positioning cartridges as part of a hybrid distribution model.
