Artist Melissa Mercado has refashioned the iconic Disney princesses without a very important feature -- the infamous damsels are illustrated without a sense of sight.
Melissa Mercado is a visual artist based in Florida, U.S.A. Her most recent collection features the lovable Disney princesses with an usual look about them. Titled 'Disney Damnsels,' this collection features princesses Ariel, Jasmine, Belle and Snow White illustrated without eyes or noses. Each princess is bearing a gritty smile, which showcases the golden grills placed upon their teeth. Mercado worked to create a sense of female empowerment along with her latest collection and added the slogan, "In present time, no longer known as the damsels in distress, the good girls have gone bad," with her title.
The 'Disney Damnsels' collection is available for order on the 'With Love Melissa' website.
