Marieke Gouda Receives Six Medals at the World Championship

Marieke Gouda, a Wisconsin-based farmstead creamery operated by Master Cheesemaker Marieke Penterman and her team, has received six medals at the 2026 World Championship Cheese Contest held in Madison. The honors include first-place gold awards for its Honey Clover and Golden varieties, second-place silver medals for its Cumin, Smoked, and Original Spread offerings, and a third-place bronze for its Golden cheese. This year marks another significant achievement for Marieke Gouda, which has accumulated more than 300 national and world championship recognitions over two decades of operation.

The 2026 World Championship Cheese Contest drew more than 3,000 from 25 countries and 34 US states. An international panel of judges evaluated each submission on technical criteria, including flavor, body, texture, and appearance.
