To celebrate Pride Month, American Apparel released a line of tees, tanks and tote bags adorned with the phrase 'Make America Gay Again.' The clever phrase plays off of Donald Trump's infamous campaign slogan in order to make a bold statement about LGBTQ rights in the US.
American Apparel's Pride '16 capsule collection is part of a joint partnership with the Ally Coalition and Human Rights Campaign. The collection consists of the brand's popular t-shirts, tanks and accessories dressed up with rainbow graphics or the phrase 'Make America Gay Again' in colorful typography.
While American Apparel has released special collections for Pride Month in the past, this year the company is also donating 30 percent of the proceeds to the Equality Act, which helps to protect LGBTQ people under US law.
