BBC ICECREAM works in collaboration with Japanese artist Jun Inagawa on the new Magical Girls collection. Magical Girls is known as mahō shōjo in Japanese culture. This builds from the artist's fascination of the Japanese subgenre, where female characters have magical powers in the novels, video games, anime, and manga.
The special collection is the fusion of streetwear and otaku culture. The capsule is made up of eight pieces in total and all of these are detailed with graphics created by the artist. This is paired together with the ICECREAM motifs and graffiti-like emblems. The color palette features hues of light green and blue along with monochromatic tones that range from black, white and gray.
