The LUMO x700 Reintroduces a Touch Bar-Style Control Strip

The LUMO x700 is a wireless keyboard concept that integrates a full-width interactive touch display along its top edge. Designed as a reinterpretation of Apple’s Touch Bar idea, the display strip is as tall as a standard key and spans the length of the keyboard, allowing space for dynamic controls and shortcuts. The keyboard uses a low-profile layout with a minimalist metal body intended for desktop setups.

The interactive strip is shown supporting context-sensitive controls such as media playback, app shortcuts, and tool panels that change depending on the active software. Concept visuals also suggest the strip could host AI-driven interfaces for tasks like voice commands and automation tools. The keyboard layout remains conventional, with the touch display positioned above the number row to avoid interfering with typing.

A detachable soundbar module is included in the concept, featuring built-in speakers, physical controls, and ambient lighting. The module can function independently or connect directly to the keyboard as part of a unified desk accessory system.
