Levi's Love. Tear. Repair. Initiative Mends and Alters the Brand's Denim

Repairs and alterations faded in the age of throwaway fashion but a renewed interest in sustainability is bringing these services back into style with initiatives like Love. Tear. Repair. Amsterdam-based United Repair Centre teamed up with Levi Strauss & Co. to bring repair and alternation services to all 16 Levi's stores in Belgium.

Denim is built for longevity, sometimes the durable material can even last a lifetime, but its enduring nature also means it may need occasional mending to keep up with years of wear and use. To extend the useful life of their Levi's garments—not just denim—customers can drop off items at a participating location, where they will be sent to United Repair Centre. After about two weeks, the refreshed items will be available for in-store pickup.
