Digital In-Ice Displays

Athletica Integrates LiveLED Technology into Arena Ice

Athletica Sport Systems is transforming hockey surfaces with digital in-ice displays that bring animated content directly beneath the ice. Installed at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph, Ontario, the LiveLED In-Ice Display is the first deployment of its kind in North America. The system can present graphics, animations, team branding and sponsor content during pregame presentations, player introductions, intermissions and special events. This turns an area traditionally limited to static markings into a flexible digital communication channel that can change throughout an event.

For teams and venue operators, the technology creates additional sponsorship inventory without requiring more conventional signage around the arena. Brands can receive prominent placements tied to specific moments, while venues can customize the surface for different teams, partners and events. Athletica can use the Guelph installation to demonstrate the platform to professional, junior and multipurpose venues seeking stronger fan experiences and additional revenue opportunities.
