The Liberum Arbitrium SS 2012 Collection is Hauntingly Elegant

The Liberum Arbitrium SS 2012 collection boats ink-dipped gowns and villainous silhouettes. The lookbook is slightly schizophrenic, with double personalities and a morbid attitude. The apparel is reminiscent of corrupted royalty, with sharp shoulders, spiky heels and extreme architectural tailoring. While the majority of the line is eery, pieces remain wearable. Particularly endearing pieces include a heavily zippered jacket and a full-length sweater, which pools onto the ground.

The brand is named after the philosophy of good versus evil. As defined by the OED, Liberum arbitrium is "a faculty of reason and will, by which good is chosen with the assistance of grace, or evil, when grace is not there to assist." While the line may have chosen an evil attitude, the pieces are rich with grace and elegance.
