Accademia del Caffè Espresso created Liaison Cupping as a recurring format that connects producing countries and consuming markets, featuring Neira Specialty Coffee and tastings from Rwandan Uwitije Coffee and Uganda’s Mountain Harvest. The series is designed as a space for dialogue, learning and sensory exploration with a focus on origin stories and supply-chain transparency.
The inaugural edition took place on 3 September 2026 in Florence and runs in a hybrid on-site and virtual format. Neira Specialty Coffee brings producers into the European market through long-term relationships, live roasting demonstrations and cuppings. Uwitije emphasizes farmer training, transparency and traceability while Mountain Harvest uses digital farmer profiles, agronomic support and premium pricing to build trust.
For participants, Liaison Cupping pairs tasting with direct access to the people, practices and business models behind each coffee, turning a cupping into an educational experience. The format builds relationships between producers, roasters and buyers and foregrounds farmer prosperity as central to specialty coffee quality.
