The Lexar ES5 Magnetic Portable SSD is a high-performance mobile storage solution engineered with the needs of smartphone videographers and pro users in mind. The device offers compatibility with any USB-equipped device to support read/write speeds up to 2,000Mbps and features MagSafe compatibility to let iPhone users mount it onto the rear of the smartphone. The device will enable 4K Apple ProRes recording up to 60fps on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, while the iPhone 16 and 17 will offer up to 120fps recording.
The Lexar ES5 Magnetic Portable SSD has an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance to survive splashes of water or even drops from up to nearly 10-feet. The drive comes in 1TB and 2TB models with a 4TB version planned for the beginning of 2026.
