Lenovo's Legion Go S Will Feature Valve's SteamOS

The Lenovo Legion Go S was unveiled at CES 2025 as a compact and versatile handheld gaming device. It comes with an AMD Ryzen Z2 Go or Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, providing robust performance for a variety of games. The device features up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 55.5Wh battery which promises extended gameplay sessions. The Legion Go S model also includes an 8-inch OLED display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring a smooth and vibrant gaming experience. One of the key highlights of the Legion Go S is its support for both Windows 11 and SteamOS, making it a flexible option for gamers who prefer different operating systems.

In terms of design, the Legion Go S is made to be more portable and lightweight compared to its predecessor. Weighing about 1.63 pounds, it eliminates the detachable controllers of the original model, providing a more streamlined form factor. Despite its smaller size, the Legion Go S retains important features such as analog sticks with Hall Effect sensors and a touchpad for ease of use. Introducing the world's first officially licensed handheld powered by SteamOS, the Legion Go S emphasizes seamless integration with the Steam ecosystem, offering features like cloud saves and Remote Play. The Windows 11 version of the Legion Go S is expected to be released in January 2025, with a starting price of $729.99, while the SteamOS version will be available in May 2025 for $499.99.
