Illuminated Hiking Sticks

Taking a hike in the wilderness, be it with a tour group or on one's own, can be quite treacherous without the right equipment on hand; the Leader Outdoor Crutches falls into that category. Although it is currently only a concept, the Leader Outdoor Crutches could radically change the way people travel at night by foot. It is a cane with a built-in light that illuminates the path ahead while also providing a useful beacon to those that might be following the carrier.

Designed by Cathy Wen and Linxi Lee, the Leader Outdoor Crutches will help ensure that people won't get lost in the middle of nowhere. More than that, by lighting the path, it will also help to prevent injuries such as ankle sprains due to loose rocks and the like.
