Cash's 'Last Photo' Video Series is Based in LA and New York

'Last Photo' is an ongoing video project that features San Francisco-based interactive artist and freelance creative Ivan Cash asking random strangers to show him the last, most recent picture that they took on their phone. The series started three months ago featuring San Francisco. Recently, Cash has repeated the same experiment in the city of Los Angeles and New York.

The results are unexpected; by sharing their most recent snapshot, strangers divulge Cash with a background story behind each and every single photo. The experiment has resulted in fascinating glimpses into the lives of random strangers.

On the reason behind his project, Cash says, "[W]e’re very intentional about what we choose to share, and I think that makes sense -- we all have an image we want to maintain -- but to me there’s something super interesting about the ordinary and the mundane and the unfiltered."
