The system consists of a home companion unit with a charging dock, a portable key fob that attaches to a backpack, and a companion mobile app. Instead of a display or messaging interface, children tap the device to cycle through four color-coded emotional states, which are then shared with a parent's smartphone.
The device uses orange to indicate a relaxed mood, yellow for playful energy, white for a preference for quiet or personal space, and blue to express "I'm thinking of you." Both physical components feature soft matte silicone construction and screen-free interfaces. The companion app mirrors the same color language, presenting each selected emotion without location tracking or additional monitoring features. The concept focuses on simplifying after-school communication through a single interaction rather than text messages, phone calls, or activity reports.
