The JORD Watches Strike a Perfect Balance Between Sleek, Earthy & Hip

American watchmaker JORD's watches are the first automatic watches to be crafted out of 100% natural wood. The Missouri-based company produces gorgeous wristwatches handcrafted from natural woods -- including maple, cherry and bamboo -- and that are suitable for both men and women.

Wristwatches generally fall into two categories -- prohibitively expensive titanium, gold or stainless watches and cheap plastic and rubber timepieces. JORD believes it's time to move on from both, and strike a balance between quality and affordability.

Despite using wood to make the watches, JORD makes it a point to craft watches in such a way that they don't look either too chunky or too crafty, but instead are hip and eminently wearable for a diverse range of watch-wearers. The watches also feature scratch-proof glass, hidden stainless steel butterfly clasps and date windows.

JORD's attention to detail in crafting the watches is evident in features such as the engraved back side of the watch, initialed crown and elegant little wooden hang tag.
