Joe Sola will be exhibiting six new portraits in a highly unusual place--inside a human ear canal. The microscopic paintings will be on display in Tif Sigrid's ear, who will be seated in an otherwise empty space in the Los Angeles gallery for the duration of the exhibit. From October 12-November 9th 2013, visitors will need to look inside Sigfrid's ear to see the 4/64 of an inch portraits. Sigrid is considered part of the installation, as the artist was quoted saying, "It’s as if you have to look into the head (mind) of the gallerist to see/experience the art."
Joe Sola created the paintings using a stereo microscope and the smallest acupuncture needle available, typically using extremely small amounts of oil paint. 'Portraits: An Exhibition in Tif Sigfrid's Ear' can be seen in the self-entitled art dealer's gallery.
