Washing machines are responsible for a significant portion of water consumption in many homes, so the concept for the Jiminy Washing Machine cannot not be realized soon enough.
Designer Joao Rocha wished to make an awareness of one's resources the priority in his product, but not at the expense of the laundry one trusts his appliance to care for.
The main idea of this project is that it's not only efficient, but intuitive as well. A simple dial system displays the lapse of time, the amount of energy used, and the contraption's water consumption. With no fixed cycles, the Jiminy Washing Machine can be endlessly adjusted to meet the needs of the consumer.
Backed by TU Delft and Philips Electronics, this green garment cleaner is all the more appealing thanks to a selection clip-on veneers that will suit the design of your home.
