Soon you can be freaked out knowing that the Viper Killer Robot is roaming around Israel equipped with bomb-sniffing equipment, and Uzi machine gun and a video camera.
The portable robot was designed as an Israeli weapon to fight Palestinian and Lebanese Hezbollah fighters. Elbit Systems Ltd., the firm that designed the VIPeR, says that the robot's small footprint will help it move throughout terrain "undeterred by stairs, rubble, dark alleys, caves or narrow tunnels."
Implications - War is a pervasive part of modern society, and engineers are working hard to release fighting robots that can do reconnaissance missions and other tasks to keep human soldiers away from the front lines of battle.
