The Iron Maiden by Wout Wessemius acts like a vertical fire pit. The design is made entirely out of steel, comprising of a rusty tube mounted atop a solid base with a revolving piece allowing it to be angled however you wish. The beautiful outline of the sculpture is impressive on its own, but it's when you light a fire inside the Iron Maiden that it becomes truly captivating by giving off a crimson radiance.
Once the fire inside has been extinguished, the tube slowly changes from a red-hot glow to a charcoal black, giving life to the sculpture after the fire has died out. The diameter of the tube is 275mm with a height of 2650mm -- perfect for areas where there isn't enough space for a wide fire pit.
