The Instagram data-sharing features were recently updated to give users more control. Specifically, Instagram will now give users more control as to what data is shared with third-party applications. With the new Instagram data-sharing controls, users will be notified as to what information a third-party app is attempting to access, and users will then have the ability to deny access to those apps.
Instagram has stated that the new privacy controls will take some time to be available to users, however, the controls should come to the platform within six months.
