Intrepid Travel has established a long-term partnership with the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC), committing CA$500,000 over the next five years to support the growth and promotion of Indigenous tourism across Canada: The agreement is designed to strengthen Indigenous-led tourism initiatives while increasing their presence within Canada’s travel landscape.
Through the partnership, Intrepid will expand the number of Indigenous-led experiences featured across its Canadian itineraries. This includes co-developing community-led tourism products and creating new signature adventures centered on Indigenous perspectives. By the end of 2026, "Intrepid aims for 75% of its Canadian tours to include at least one Indigenous experience, with a long-term goal of full inclusion across all itineraries."
The collaboration reflects a shared focus on cultural understanding and economic participation as Intrepid seeks to ensure travelers gain deeper insight into Indigenous cultures, while ITAC emphasizes the role of sustained partnerships in addressing funding and infrastructure challenges faced by Indigenous tourism businesses across Canada.
