Indie rock yoga festivals? Oh yah, I'm all about this. The Wanderlust festival in Lake Tahoe, California combined music by artists like Broken Social Scene, Andrew Bird and Girl with professionally instructed yoga classes out in the open.
"Wanderlust is a new kind of festival bringing together the world's top yoga teachers and the best performers in rock & roll, all in a setting of breathtaking natural beauty," the festival site says.
Some of the other artists that played at the Squaw Valley Ski Resort event include Michael Franti & Spearhead, Spoon, Gillian Welch, Sharon Jones & The Dap, Kings, Rogue Wave and Amanda Palmer. Yogis included John Friend, Shiva Rea, Annie Carpenter, Christy Nones, Doug Swenson, Duncan Wong, Elena Brower, Janet Stone, Jason & Jenny, Katchie Ananda and Kenny Graham.
