Immersive Japanese Heritage Tours

ROJICOYA Introduces Traditional Asakusa Experiences

ROJICOYA is developing immersive Japanese heritage tours that introduce visitors to Asakusa's traditional arts through direct encounters with local cultural practitioners. The planned pilot experience combines craftmaking, guided neighborhood exploration, and intimate performances, offering travelers a deeper understanding of Tokyo's historic entertainment district beyond its familiar landmarks.

Participants can visit Hakocho, a workshop established in 1874, to create decorative pieces using silk fabric and carved paulownia wood. A rakugo storyteller or hōkan, a traditional male entertainer, guides visitors through Asakusa's cultural history. The experience also introduces ozashiki gatherings, where geisha and hōkan share performances and interact with guests.

For ROJICOYA, the program creates opportunities to attract culturally curious travelers while supporting relationships with local artisans and performers. Customizable experiences for corporate groups, hotels, and travel agencies could also expand its tourism partnerships and help sustain traditional cultural practices.
