Hair-Centered Art Exhibitions

amika Turns Hair Culture Into a Curated Art Experience

Amika is exploring hair-centered art exhibitions with Crowns in Bloom: Celebrating Hair in Contemporary Art, a New York exhibition examining hair as identity, memory, culture and creative expression. Curated by Auttrianna Ward, the exhibition brings together painting, sculpture, photography, installation and film through themes including Hair as Medium, Hair as Play, Hair as Landscape and Hair as Ritual. The experience also connects contemporary artists with professional hairstyling through the participation of amika Stylist Circle member Vernon François.

For amika, the exhibition extends its “All Hair Is Welcome” philosophy beyond traditional product marketing and into a cultural setting. Aligning the brand with established and emerging artistic perspectives can deepen its connection to consumers who view hair as part of personal identity rather than simply a beauty routine. The September 24 through October 9 event also gives amika an experiential platform during New York Art Fair Week, supporting visibility and cultural relevance beyond retail channels.
