When it comes to the ideal city bike, Jordan Hufnagel, a custom bike builder based in Portland, Oregon, has come up with an impressive design as his farewell to the craft. Although he has found much success working with Hufnagel Cycles, he has since founded West America with longtime friend and celebrated motorcycle builder James Crowe. In lieu of a monumental motorcycle trip to Patagonia and back, he created on last single-speed Porteur bicycle that is being touted as the ideal city bike.
Although chock full of bells and whistles, the result was a clean and simple design. Hefnagel says about creating the ideal city bike, "I wanted this last effort in bikes before the trip to be one that really exemplified what I thought was awesome. Awesome in relation to design, functionality and overall aesthetic."
