Nubia’s Ice Cream Cooler is a compact magnetic accessory that attaches to compatible smartphones, featuring a 36 × 36mm thermoelectric cooling plate paired with a cold-forged aluminum heatsink and an aluminum heat-spreading layer. It builds on the company’s Red Magic gaming accessory hardware to bring active cooling directly to a phone.
The system combines the thermoelectric plate with copper heat-transfer components, airflow channels and a seven-blade fan that spins at up to 6,000 rpm. Nubia says the cooler can dissipate up to 25 W of waste heat and deliver temperature reductions of up to 18 C, with claims of up to a 60 C reduction under heavy load. The accessory also includes RGB lighting with multiple effects.
For mounting, the Ice Cream Cooler uses neodymium magnets, includes clips for nonmagnetic phones and offers a 1/4-inch screw mount for tripods or livestreaming rigs. It supports Android and Apple devices as well as tablets, and its introductory price in China is 99 yuan, or about $14, making active phone cooling more accessible for gaming, fast charging, livestreaming and outdoor use.
