Though walls, roofs and concrete foundations keep us separate from the natural world, humans are innately bound to the Earth. 'I Heard the Earth Inhale' is a poetic collection of pictures taken by Lukas Sowada, in which a young man comes to embrace his less than humble beginnings.

The handsome Flavio Branco Geraldes stars in these utterly bewitching images. The male model poses pensively, and rather meditatively in each frame, appearing to engage with the truth of his inner world and the purity of his lush forest surroundings. Against the olive skin of the striking subject, the emerald color of the moss, the grass and the leaves on the trees becomes vivid and alive with the diffuse rays of the sun above. 'I Heard the Earth Inhale' seeks out the humanity in man's organic environment.
