Xiaomi Announced its Next-Gen Mobile OS 'HyperOS'

'HyperOS' is a new Android-based operating system that Xiaomi has announced to replace its legacy MIUI operating system. HyperOS is designed to cater to Xiaomi’s wide product range that goes beyond smartphones, such as smart home devices, cars, and more. HyperOS promises “Hyper performance, fluidity, and connectivity” with a completely new architecture that integrates Android and Xiaomi’s self-developed Vela system.

The Xiaomi 14 series will be the first smartphone to launch with HyperOS onboard. The Xiaomi 14 series is expected to launch later this month in China, and will be available globally throughout 2024. The pricing and availability of HyperOS for other Xiaomi devices have not been announced yet, but the company has said that it will gradually replace MIUI on all its products. HyperOS will also support Android 13 and 14 updates for compatible devices.
