Although Nike teased the idea of self-lacing sneakers back in October of last year, now the company has made the shoes a reality in the form of the 'HyperAdapt 1.0.' Announced during the Nike Innovation Summit, the new shoes will be the first to use the brand's revolutionary adaptive lacing technology.
The HyperAdapt 1.0 is a pair of sneakers designed to reduce athlete distraction caused by lose shoelaces. As soon as the wearer steps into the sneakers, their heel will hit a sensor that causes the laces will automatically tighten. There are also two buttons in the side for tightening and loosening so that the user can adjust the shoes accordingly.
The shoes are set to officially launch during the 2016 holiday season and they will be available in either white, black or grey.
