Granted, not everyone will love looking at the hard, shirtless bodies of hot men. But at least they can appreciate the adorable dogs in each image.

Shot by celebrity photographer Mike Ruiz, the Hunks and Hounds calendar is one way to ring in the new year on a good note. Not only are the images irresistible on at least two levels, the calendar will inspire people to do a little good for others as well. Ruiz says, “I just hope that people enjoy the images, and that they are reminded daily that adopting and loving an animal is the most humane thing a human can do.”
