'Collide' is a non-profit organization that feed the homeless and their pets. For some homeless youth, animals provide an invaluable source of companionship. This organization supports the relationship between pets and their owners by providing food and veterinary care.
The organization operates out of the 'Graffiti Church' on New York City's Lower East Side. Collide hosts bi-weekly lunches that provide meals for both homeless youth and their animals. The organization also offers veterinary care and the opportunity to have their pets spayed or neutered. Collide also offers emotional support for those who find themselves separated from their pet by well-intentioned observers. These animals can be tagged and licensed to help them be reunited with their owner in the event that this kind of separation occurs.
By feeding the homeless and their pets, Collide helps maintain the emotional and therapeutic connection between owners and their animal companions.
