Guild Wars Reforged is a modernisation of the original 2005 Guild Wars MMORPG, developed in a co‑development partnership between ArenaNet and 2weeks, a studio founded by former ArenaNet developers who worked on the original title. The Reforged package consolidates the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns, will be free for existing owners of at least one of those campaigns, and is scheduled to launch on December 3rd for Steam and Windows PC.
The update emphasises accessibility and visual fidelity improvements, including XInput controller support, Steam Deck verification, high‑DPI display compatibility, new antialiasing and ambient occlusion options, enhanced bloom and texture refinements, updated HD skill icons, and an upgraded 3D environmental audio system. Quality‑of‑life changes include a new quest‑tracking system and increased font size options for modern high‑resolution monitors, while the Reforged package is also offered as a paid bundle for new players at a modest price point.
