Suffering for the sake of accomplishing a task is commonplace in this world, and this 'Asphyxia' photo series by Hungary-based photographer and graphic designer Flora Borsi is just one example of grim photos that can simultaneously captivate and disturb an audience.
This striking photo series features a model submerged in a glass bowl filled with water to produce a dark and enchanting visual appearance. The title 'Asphyxia' is perfectly fitting because you can't help acquiring a drowning sensation when you see the photographs of this seamlessly fluid model. The monochromatic stills have a sense of sadism and masochism to them, with the model constantly immersed under water and forced to hold her breath while the photographer captures each scene.
