Fitness-tracking wearables are perhaps the most common in the market but Google Coach is hoping to reinvent the space with AI. Designed as an app for Google's Wear OS, this new feature will utilize AI to track a user's workout routines and exercise progress and will provide recommendations accordingly. These recommendations by Google Coach can be set by the user and will include things like alternatives to missed workouts, suggested exercises and even optimized rest times.
Google Coach will also be capable of assisting in nutrition, through healthy meal suggestions for both in-home cooking and eating out. The AI will also provide cues on how much water to drink, when to take medication and prescribed steps for the day. Google has also stated that the notifications from Google Coach will be more conversational in tone.
