The Good2Go App Attempts to Foster Positive Communication About Consent

Good2Go is a new app that encourages honest and open communication about sexual consent between adults.

Though the app has good intentions -- the prevention of sexual violence -- it can lead to a whole bunch of awkwardness. Can you imagine making your potential partner fill out a survey before getting into bed with you? Yet, that's exactly what this app does, allowing your partner to give you the virtual go-ahead by affirming they are "Good2Go." After clicking Good2Go, the app asks a series of follow-up questions about your sobriety. Users who range from sober to intoxicated are then asked to verify their phone number; users who choose the "wasted" option are considered too inebriated to give meaningful consent.

While this app may have a few kinks to work out when it comes to keeping the moment alive, it does continue an important conversation we've been having about consent.
