Alveo Technologies has established a collaborative agreement with the regional veterinary firm Global Animal Health to implement a widespread diagnostic network for detecting avian influenza across Egypt's poultry industry. This initiative involves the distribution of one thousand portable analysis units and ten thousand corresponding single-use test kits to facilitate molecular-level testing outside traditional laboratory settings and directly at farm locations.
Through their collaboration, Alveo Technologies and Global Animal Health strive to transition from a delayed, centralized testing model to a proactive surveillance system, where results are available in approximately forty-five minutes. This, in turn, will allow for immediate data reporting with geographical tagging to health authorities.
The program, partially supported by governmental entities, initially aims to monitor farms situated along major bird migration routes, with intentions to replicate this framework in other nations within the Middle East and North Africa.
