Ichigoichie's Tactichord: Glam Strategy Is Coming

Ichigoichie created Tactichord: Glam Strategy, a tactics game that pairs turn-based strategy with a glam-metal aesthetic and a story set in 1990. The studio reused core tech from its previous title Backbeat and presents action from an isometric camera while embedding bigger character dialogue portraits and hand-drawn comic-panel cutscenes.

The game pays homage to glam metal through character design and music cues, and band members gain progressively zanier costumes, dance moves and song lyrics as the narrative advances. Visual systems include cinematic camera choices that pick shots based on actions, dynamic sky boxes with effects like flames and hurricanes, and frequent colour grading changes that mimic 80s camcorder solarization.

Low-poly models are dressed up with lighting and flattering angles, and facial animation uses texture flip books—sequential texture cells that create expressions. That mix of retro music styling and low-tech animation methods offers a playful, story-forward tactical experience, and a demo is available on Steam while the PC release is coming soon.
