Cautionary Identity Theft Charts

This Infographic Has Great Advice on How to Avoid Getting Hacked

Getting hacked is more than just a temporary annoyance, it's an awful experience that can completely ruin your life.

Not to frighten anyone, but according to this infographic by Solera Networks, you stand a 69% chance of getting hacked at some point in your online career. Getting hacked and identities stolen doesn't just mean that someone is watching you while you surf the Internet either. Fifteen percent of identity theft happens by the victim's wallet getting stolen and 47% of identity theft is committed by someone the victim knew.

The easiest way to avoid getting hacked is to be smart about your activities online. Put difficult to guess passwords on everything, install anti-virus and spy-ware programs on your computer, don't open strange email attachments and only visit websites that are certified safe.
