Airport immigration and customs at some terminals are quickly improving efficiency with the management of arriving passengers, but systems like the 'Generation P' 3D Scanner still look like they may be decades away from installation.
The completely and literally impersonal setup has been designed by Art. Lebedev for the Generation P movie, perhaps frightening some who still prefer to deal with actual people when it comes to keeping tabs on the population.
Nevertheless, the virtual invention serves its purpose very well, appearing to be a convincing fixture one might find in another generation's time. A raised circular platform with beveled edges is surrounded by a framework of posts and adjustable facial recognition cameras 360 degrees around the subject, who may stand or be seated and braced within the 'Generation P' 3D Scanner while his physical features are meticulously recorded.
