Vans Vault introduces its Frida Kahlo collection, celebrating the life of the late Mexican artist with a series of premium sneaker designs. The capsule features three silhouettes in total -- the signature Sk8-Hi, the Authentics, and the Slip-Ons.
The three are drawn from the label's LX form, which is constructed from study elements, blending both premium material and coatings. The sneakers are plastered in artworks and mural of and by the artist, with the Sk8-His adorned in the Las Dos Fridas piece on top of green leather and canvas blends. The painting is from 1939 and it features two Frida Kahlos holding hands as a symbol of her divorce from Diego Rivera. TheAuthentic features the Viva la Vida work with watermelon emblems as well. The Slip-Ons showcases her famous Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird.
