The Fire Activated Canister Extinguisher (FACE for short) is an innovative new fire suppression device that is designed to automatically deploy a mix of water and eco-friendly fire retardant when it detects heat.
Created by a San Francisco high school student named Arul Mathur, the Fire Activated Canister Extinguisher is a wall-mounted gadget that is fitted with an air valve, a pressure gauge and a sprinkler.
What's great about this particular fire suppression device is that it doesn't need to be used in conjunction with electrical or water outlets in users' homes. Rather, it is equipped with a special bulb that bursts when it's exposed to heat from flames. This results in the pressurized fire retardant mix to spray up to five feet in all directions.
